Lampe Gras 302 Pendant Light by DCW editions Design by Bernard-Albin Gras
Designed by Bernard-Albin Gras in 1921, the Lampe Gras 302 Pendant Light from DCW Editions is a pioneering piece whose neutral aesthetic is directly informed by a wealth of adjustability options. The pendant underscores engineer and designer Gras’s innovative and humble mindset, as it stems from a want to improve the working conditions for ordinary workers in the industrial 20s. Using technical engineering, Gras introduces a Bakelite ball system at the canopy for an 86-degree range of motion complemented by 250 and 210-degree adjusting joints at the end. The arm rotates a full 360-degrees and extends as a telescopic construction. These functional elements are highly refined and durable, as they require no screws or welded joints.
